Located along the shores of Lake Sidney Lanier, Chestatee is a small town in the northeastern portion of Georgia. Its original name was Atsunsta Ti Yi, or “pine torch place.” The town was originally settled by Cherokees. It is located west of the confluence of the Chestatee River and the Chattahoochee River.
