Located on the north end of Lake Lanier, Thompson Bridge Park is a place to go for a picnic and to enjoy the outdoors. This park offers boat ramps, picnic areas, and restrooms. In addition, this park is the home of the Lake Lanier Rowing Club and the Lake Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club. It is also home to the Northeast Georgia History Center, which features an instructional pool and a competition pool. This amazing park is located at Gainesville, GA 30506. The park also has a fishing pier and a small boat launch. The boat launch is open night fishing, and the boat ramp is open to midnight cruisers.

The Civilian Conservation Corps has made improvements at Thompson Bridge Park over the past year. Last year, the Corps renovated the park’s bathrooms, re-paved the park’s gate house, and replaced two shower washhouses at Sawnee campground. This year, they will continue their work at the park through the summer. They also will replace the parking lot and trail paving. Next location

A new 1,170-foot bridge will be constructed west of the current southbound bridge. This bridge is slated to be constructed in late summer or early fall. This new structure will replace the 66-year-old structure, which will be destroyed during construction. The new bridge will carry traffic from the south to the north.

In addition to the new bridge, the Civilian Conservation Corps is also replacing the old northbound structure. The Corps also has plans to add another parking lot to the north side of the new structure. These two projects are part of the ongoing work at Van Pugh South.

Thompson Bridge Park is also home to the Gainesville First United Methodist Church. This church is about a half mile away from the park. The park is also close to a brand name coffee shop and a Mexican fast-food restaurant. The First United Methodist Church is on a steep hill, and it’s a bit of a walk back.

The park also has a playground and a boat dock. There are grills, picnic tables, and a swim area. There is also a pavilion available for rent. The park is a popular destination during the summer months.

If you are planning to visit the park during the summer months, be sure to take note of the seasonal closures. Many Army Corps of Engineers day-use parks will close on Saturday, September 24. The Corps considers many factors when deciding whether to close a park. They consider a variety of factors, including the park’s proximity to other open areas, visitation, personnel issues, budget issues, and the availability of resources. In addition, they will consider whether or not the park is suitable for the number of people that will be visiting. There are several other parks that provide access to Lake Lanier. The Corps offers free admission to 14 parks, including Little Hall, Lakeside, and Van Pugh North. In addition, temporary annual passes are available for other parks.
